Description

Institut za standardizaciju Srbije (ISS) is the national standards body of Serbia, with a long history dating back to 1939 and evolving through various legal forms to its current status under Serbian law. ISS represents Serbia in major international and European standardisation organisations, including ISO, IEC, IECEE, CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI, playing a key role in aligning Serbian standards with global frameworks.

The cooperation between HSbooster.eu and ISS focuses on standardisation education, capacity building, and knowledge sharing through the innovative HSbooster Training Academy.

On October 11, 2024, ISS hosted an event at the University of Belgrade Library, where HSbooster presented and facilitated the Serious Smiley Game for the senior management of National Standards Bodies from Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, and Romania. This interactive role-play game is designed to develop essential soft skills such as argumentation, consensus-building, and strategic decision-making needed for effective participation in standardisation processes. The positive reception has led to expressed interest from ISS and the Croatian NSB to organise further training sessions on the Serious Smiley Game.

This collaboration supports HSbooster’s mission to bring standardisation closer to the research community and to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for active involvement in standardisation. By partnering with ISS, HSbooster helps foster greater engagement in standardisation activities, particularly in widening countries, facilitating the transformation of innovative research into standardised, market-ready solutions. The joint efforts contribute to bridging the gap between research and standardisation for a broader European impact.
